AILA Quicktake #316 – FY2024 H-1B Registration Numbers Highlight the Need for Change

On April 28, 2023, USCIS announced its FY2024 H-1B registration numbers. AILA’s Sharvari Dalal-Dheini explains how the administration can address some of the problems that the newly released data made evident.
This year, there is a 61% increase in overall registrations, as well as a 147% increase in the number of individuals with multiple registrations. These increases have resulted in significantly lower selection rates, leaving many eligible beneficiaries disappointed. AILA provides recommendations for USCIS, the administration, and Congress for a fairer and more effective H-1B program.
