MentorTalks: Igniting creativity and hope, and taking it to the next level

When ExchangeAlumni/producer/documentary filmmaker Ram Devineni and Natalia Ponce de Leon, an acid attack survivor and activist, teamed up on a Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund (CDAF) grant to combat gender-based violence in Bogota, Colombia in 2022, they wanted to keep the project going after the initial grant had ended. Ram got a chance to do so through the Fulbright Specialist program, teaming up a second time with Natalia and the U.S. Embassy in Bogota to continue their work. Learn about the origins of Kaia, a female superhero, and how Ram and Natalia expanded on their initial CDAF project.

CDAF is a small grant funded by the U.S. Department of State and open to U.S. citizens who have participated in U.S. government cultural and educational exchange programs.
